Meet Amber Geary, a Plum Sun Valley blogger! Amber has been living the Wood River Valley for about a year, and has been blogging for almost four years. Amber was kind enough to answer a few of our questions about herself, and some of her Wood River Valley favorites. She also shares her adventures in skiing, and "her love" of Mike's Hard Lemonade.

How long have you lived in the Wood River Valley (and where did you live before)?

I have been here almost a year now and I love the way it smells. I’ve lived in a few places, two most recent being New York City and Austin, Texas.

Ski or Snowboard? And what gear are you using?

Ski…? I’m not sure that many people around here would call what I do to get down the mountain “skiing”, but I have two things strapped to my feet and I carry poles.

What's your favorite run on Baldy?

Cold Springs. Hands down. Love it. Smells great.

Favorite Valley restaurant for comfort food, date night, and brunch?

Comfort Food: The Pio, the amount of comforting I need determines whether or not there is a Mud Pie on the table at the end of the meal.

Date Night: Globus, have the scallops and you’ll be a believer.

Brunch: The Kneadery for sure, always end up having the best conversations there too, and I love their blue coffee mugs.

Best place to grab a beer?

Let me take this opportunity to tell the Valley that I’m allergic to brewer’s yeast and that’s why I’m always ordering Mike’s Hard Lemonade…just to clear that up…I like beer and I miss it. If I could, I would drink beer at Lefty’s.

Best kept secret in the Wood River Valley?

Well, now if I told you it wouldn’t be a secret…

What will you miss most about the Winter Season?

Hmmm…let’s just say I’m really looking forward to not wearing some combination of wool and down to go outside.

What are you looking forward to the most this Summer?

This question is MUCH easier to answer. Fishing (!), camping, hiking, trips, sitting outside to eat the majority of my meals, flip flops and the smell (of the outdoors, not of mine or anyone else’s flip flops)

How long have you been a blogger?

For about 4 years. I wrote an entertainment blog called The Austintainer for the Austin NBC and CW affiliates. I also keep a blog on my website www.PeaceLoveandTelevision.com. My love for talking endlessly about TV will become apparent more quickly than you can sing the theme song to Married with Children.
