Meet Roger "Roggg" Woodruff, a Plum Nantucket Producer & Editor! Roggg shares with us a few of his Nantucket favorites, discusses his love for film and waxes poetic on the reassuring qualities of the Brant Point Lighthouse.

How long have you lived in Nantucket (and where did you live before)?

I've lived on the "Rock" for two years now. Before Nantucket I was rocking out as an Intern in Vail, CO. Of course, where ever I may be, my home will always be Cleveland, OH. It's true folks, Cleveland does rock!

What's your favorite beach?

Low Beach
is by far my favorite beach. It's never too crowded in the summer and no matter how hot it maybe on the island it's always a little cooler over there. Even in the winter there's something to see. It's a great place to catch some seals sticking their heads out of the water.

BEST Lighthouse? Brant Point, Sankaty or Great Point?

Wow, there's a tough question. I'm so tempted to say Sankaty but I've got to pick Brant Point. The sight of seeing Brant Point as you sail into the harbor is just a priceless experience time and time again.

Favorite Nantucket restaurants (comfort food, fine dining, brunch)?

Can I just say that I've never had a bad dinning experience on Nantucket. This island has some of the best food you will ever eat. As for a place I love to go and grab lunch, it has to be Walter's. They're so friendly over there and they have the best big pickles!

Best place to grab a beer/cocktail?

During Trivia Night at the Rose & Crown.

Best Nantucket shopping experience?

Once I have enough money to shop here I'll let you know.

Best kept secret in Nantucket?

There's this great little place called the Bamboo Forest. It's the most random thing you'll ever find on Nantucket. If you've made the drive out to Madaket, then you past it.

What do you look forward to the most this Summer?

Grilling a steak with a Bud in my hand, good friends all around, and Billy Joel in the back ground.

You've got quite a rivalry with "that other island" (Martha's Vineyard). Why is Nantucket VASTLY superior?

Nantucket keeps it real. The island has successfully captured this intense nineteenth century feel. The Vineyard feels like your on the mainland. However, I must admit that I have enjoyed all of my trips to "the other island."

What's your favorite event on Nantucket's Calendar?

I've always had this love affair with film. I went to school for film, enjoy writing screenplays in my spare time, and I hope to one day write and director a feature length film. So my answer has to be the Nantucket Film Festival!

You're stranded on an island (sadly, not Nantucket) with two Nantucketers. Who would they be?

Well, I'd pick Kim McCray and Mark Donato. Kim, because she's my girlfriend and one of the most creative people I've ever met. Mark, because he knows how to have fun and make the best of any situation.

Favorite book/album/movie?

My favorite book is "Rebel Without a Crew" by Robert Rodriguez. My favorite album is a toss up between "Glass Houses" by Billy Joel and "High Adventure" by Kenny Loggins. My favorite film is a toss up between "The Empire Strikes Back" and "The Paper."

Who's your celebrity BFF?

Frank Stalone, I wish...

And perhaps the most important question of all...Pick a Superpower: Flight or Invisibility? Why?

Invisibillity because I could sneak into the theater to watch movies for free.

Thanks Roggg!
