We want to make sure that you have all your ducks in a row before Snowmass and Aspen Mountain open on Thursday, November 26. Here's Plum's list of things to do before making your first tracks of the season.

Get in Shape

Every year we promise we'll be in shape by the start of the ski season and every year our resolution falls to the wayside. This year we have, finally, discovered the secret to sticking to a fitness promise--signing up for weekly classes with friends, coworkers, or ski buddies. Check out the ski conditioning classes offered by the Aspen Recreation Center, the Aspen Athletic Club, or the Aspen Club & Spa. Also, avoid a skiing and riding injury this year by signing up for yoga classes at Bikram's Yoga or 02 Aspen, as they'll help you get flexible and stay limber for the slopes.

Get a Season Pass

Aspen Skiing Co. offers a variety of season passes ranging from one-day a week to the unlimited premiere pass. Prices range so be sure to calculate how much time you'll be able to dedicate to the slopes. Visitors to Aspen/Snowmass can also purchase their lift tickets online. Buy more than four days of lift tickets and score a discounted price. If you're buying your tickets a week in advance make sure to inquire about a discounted price.

Get the Gear

Now is definitely the best time to check out this year's hottest gear for the mountains. Head over to Aspen Sports, Pomeroy Sports, Hamilton Sports, or Four Mountain Sports to talk to their friendly and knowledgeable sales people for advice on what boards will help you rip turns this winter. Or, if you're looking for a deal, check out Aspen Sports Outlet in Snowmass which still has discounted prices on some of last year's equipment and clothes.

Get to Know Your Bartender

When aprés season roles around, we promise that you'll want to be friends with the bartenders at your favorite after-the-slopes hotspot. Check out Aspen's favorite aprés spots such as The Little Nell, The Tavern, 39 Degrees, and Mezzaluna to get chummy before it's time to loosen your boots and indulge in skiing's best tradition.

Oh, and before we forget, the most important thing--pray for snow!
