It's official. Stop the rumor mill. Snow has come to Aspen.
Update - Check out the beautiful shots of snow falling over Aspen & Snowmass Mountain from the October 28 storm in our slideshow.
Our friends over at Snowmass sent in these photos from the top of the mountain and, as you can see, there is actual, real snow and it's starting to pile up fast. The season doesn't officially start until Thanksgiving but for those adventurous types, perhaps anxious as well, brave enough to bare the unseasonably chilly temps at summit there may just be enough powder for a run or two.
Opening Day may be a month off but we have our eye on two separate weather fronts moving in this week. One giving us some snow over the weekend and another out of the North coming in next week and bringing downright freezing temps to the area. Fall is fleeting and time is limited, so if you have any apple picking, pumpkin patching, or trail riding still left on your Autumn docket you'd better buckle down and get to it. The pictures don't lie. Winter is coming and, at least at summit, perhaps already here.
