There are a lot of ways to spend a lot of money in the Hamptons, but dinner doesn't have to be one of them. Nine bucks is all it takes to achieve gastronomic glory. Don't expect tablecloths and white gloved waiters, but if you've got a hankering for some good grub, then read on...

Hampton Bays:

For a no nonsense, down-to-earth, serious burger, you can't beat Buckley's. It's a no frills, burgers-and-beers centric spot that is family and budget friendly. Grab a Guiness and get fed.

Buckley's Irish Pub, 139 West Montauk Hwy., Hampton Bays, 631-728-7197, Price: $8.95

Southampton:

Beer may be the main course—and there's nothing wrong with that—but at the Publick House, the burger is not to be missed either. Pair it with one of the award-winning beers they brew on location and you're in for a little cheap bliss.

Southampton Publick House, 40 Bowden Square, Southampton, 631-283-2800, Price: $8.50

If you can speak Spanish then you're one step ahead of the game at La Hacienda. The local Hispanic population frequents this place for two reasons: 1) you can't find anything on the menu that cost more than $10, and 2) the food is super authentic and super good. A burrito alone is a meal for a day and the spicy pork tacos are a guaranteed homerun.

La Hacienda, 48 Jagger Ln., Southampton, 631-287-6814, Price: $3-up

Sagaponack:

The newest entrant in the Under 10 category is Townline BBQ—and they're making a serious bid as not only one of the cheap spots, but hands down, one of the best spots. They have two items on the menu that are to die for: the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Brisket Sandwich. Literally, two of the greatest things you can wrap your lips around in the Hamptons.

Townline BBQ, corner of Town Line Rd. and Montauk Hwy., Sagaponack, 631-537-2271, Price $7.50

Sag Harbor:

Sag is the capital of cheap eats and, if you're heading there from Bridgehampton, the first option you'll encounter is Bay Burger. There were a few ravenous burger lovers who eagerly anticipated the opening of this spot and Bay Burger delivered. Get the burger with everything on it and grab a table out back and you will not be disappointed.

Bay Burger, 1742 Sag Harbor Tpke., Sag Harbor, 631-899-3915, Price $6.50

The old standby, and the one spot that's been doing great cheap eats for longer than most other places out here, the Corner Bar is a classic. The burger is top five in the Hamptons and the Cajun Fish Sandwich is the best thing that's been done with bread since the last supper.

Corner Bar, 1 Main St., Sag Harbor, 631-725-9760, Price: $7.50-up

Opened last spring, Agave has been a creeper—not making big waves, but serving up super fresh Mexican. It's hard to find a greasy dish here, which is not so common when it comes to quick and cheap Mexican. The chicken tacos are superb as are the enchiladas.

Agaves South of the Border, 138 Division St, Sag Harbor, 631-725-4555, Price: $7.50

Amagansett:

Two words: La Fondita. Wicked authentic Mexican at wicked good prices. The fish tacos are fantastic...and so is everything else. Grab a cerveca and a picnic table outside and let the fiesta begin.

La Fondita, 74 Montauk Hwy., Amagansett, 631-267-8800, Price $3-up

Montauk:

OK, so this isn't exactly food, but Liar's Saloon has a deal that'll make you contemplate skipping a meal...because you're passed out. Liar's has $1 drafts. Yes, you read that right. It's a bit rough and tumble and frequented by fisherman, so tread lightly, but there's no better way to get a bang for your nine bucks.

Liar's Saloon, 401 West Lake Drive, Montauk, 631-668-9597, Price: $1
