EXPERIENCE
1) Come see the legendary guitarist Leo Kottke perform at the Westhampton Beach PAC on Friday, August 21, at 8:30 p.m. Kottke is a dazzling instrumentalist with a grow-to-love-it-voice. His unique finger-picking is influenced by blues, jazz, and folk, which combines to create a dazzling and masterful style. Tickets range from $20-50. This is sure to be an unforgettable show! 2) Check out some local singer-songwriters at Original Voices at The Vail. This open-mic styled event is held every third Thursday of the month at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall, beginning at 7:30 p.m., and includes a featured musician at 9 p.m. This week's scheduled performer is Long Island native Jay Scott, who'll be performing his unique brand of blues tempered with some country amiability and a soft yet gritty voice. Admission is $5 and goes to benefit the Music Hall. Bring your guitar and get in on the performing!
3) Can your dog sit, stay, AND savasana? Bring your pooch to Lululemon Athletica on Saturday, August 22, at 9 a.m. for some Doga...that's right, Dog Yoga! This 45 minute class is led by Kari Harendorf, whose doggie-based sessions have been featured in TimeOut New York, New York Post, and New York Times. Doga is centered around bonding with you furry friend and giving it some special, undivided attention! You'll learn massage techniques to calm your dog after a long & stressful day of fetching, sleeping, and being adorable! The class has some human-based exercises too!

4) Catch some world-class cinema with An Evening of the World's Best Short Films, on Saturday, August 22, from 6-10 p.m. at the Martha Clara Vineyards in Riverhead. This fast-paced event will feature two short films by Oscar Nominee Jason Reitman, director of last year's charming indie flick "Juno", as well as films by Jeremy Kip Walker, John Mitchell, and Nash Edgerton. Before the screening, there will also be some great live music by local favorites, The Rare Groove Band. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door...and only $15 if you'd just like admission to the films! Not bad for the best in the world!
