NEW YORK, NY - We'd show up to the opening of an envelope. But how about the opening of a pen? Such was the case at the Standard Hotel this past Friday for the debut of the DBA 98 pen, a writing instrument made out of 98% biodegradable materials (and made in a wind-powered factory to boot).
The event was also a fundraiser for Riverkeeper and such notables as Salman Rushdie, Amanda Hearst, Yigal Azrouël, Brooke Geahan, Matthew Modine, and Adam Lippes were all seen bidding on original works on paper created by an impressive roster of talent, including George Lois, Jenny Holzer, Mick Jagger, Robert F. Kennedy Jr, and David Schwimmer.
And although we were aggressively overbid on everything we made a move on, we find it's always best to avoid getting carried away whenever there's an open bar involved and are delighted to know that it all went to a good cause.
See photos from the event in the attached slideshow.
