Plum is pleased to report that our dear friend (and traveling Arts Correspondent) has accepted the position as program director at the John S. & James L. Knight Foundation.

A noted philanthropist and art collector (among several other roles), Dennis Scholl has been kind over the years to give Plum some of his time to helm much of our arts & culture coverage in Miami and Aspen. We wish him all the best in his new endeavor.

From the Miami Herald:

Dennis Scholl, a Miami art collector, real estate investor, attorney, philanthropist and winemaker, has joined the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as the charitable group's Miami program director.

In his new role, Scholl will work with local civic leaders to identify funding opportunities for Knight Foundation's Miami programs, which include multimillion-dollar investments in the arts, education, housing, economic development and the well-being of children and families...

...An art collector for more than 30 years, Scholl has served as founding chair of the Guggenheim Photography Committee, of the Tate Modern American Acquisitions Committee and of the Miami Art Museum Collectors Council. He has also served on the boards of the Aspen Art Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami and the alternative art space Locust Projects, of which he was chair.

Congratulations Dennis!
