SEE
1) After 17 years, the Homestead Air Reserve Base is bringing back the Wings Over Homestead Airshow! In 1992, Hurricane Andrew wreaked havoc at the Air Force base and the personnel of the 482nd Fighter Wing haven't had an opportunity to showcase their sharp skills. On the weekend of November 7-8, 100,000 visitors are expected for the two-day show, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The event will feature performances by the F-15 Eagle demonstration team, U.S. Army Screaming Eagles Jump Team, U.S. Air Force Jet Car, and tunes from the U.S. Air Force Reserve Band. This event is FREE(!) and open to the public. For more information, visit www.wingsoverhomestead.com.
2) Join the New World Symphony for Sounds of the Times: New York State of Mind on Saturday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Theatre. Bask in the musical artistry featured at New York's own Bang on a Can Festival, and go on a journey through New York City's streets. The program features Lang's Pierced, Ziporyn's War Chant, and Gordon's Gotham. It's the best way to get a bite of the Big Apple from so far away! For more information and tickets, visit www.nws.edu.

3) Join the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) for their annual Mystery Dates Fundraiser, benefiting MOCA exhibitions of emerging artists, being held on Saturday, November 7. The surprise-filled night begins with a festive party at Museo Vault, a state-of-the-art storage facility in Wynwood. Then, guests will learn which of the glamorous dinners they will attend - hence the "mystery!" No matter where you end up going, you'll be treated to tours of the hosts' private art collection, highlighting how they live with art. The limited tickets to Mystery Dates 2009 are $175 for non-members and $125 for MOCA Shaker members. The after party will be held at the W Hotel on South Beach.
