Every Monday, we post The Five Best Things to enjoy in the upcoming week. These things are selected by the Plum TV staff and often times by you.
They range from humble to haute and include exciting events, festivals and performances as well as dining, shopping and playing at various treasured spots, shops and institutions.

SAVOR
1) Ring in the gorgeous fall weather with some incredible beer at Nantucket's first micro-distillery, Cisco Brewers. Founded in 1997 by Dean & Melissa Long, the brewery has been serving up premium seasonal spirits that are hand-crafted in small batches and made with only natural ingredients. Whatever your fall weather pleasure may be, maybe a pale ale, porter, stout (or extra stout!), barleywine or a light beer, Cisco has it all.

2) Head on over to the Whaling Museum on Wednesday, October 7 from 6-7 p.m. as the Nantucket Historical Association holds it's recurring Recent Acquisitions Night. This special night is a chance for the public to not only see some of the new pieces and artifacts acquired by the NHA, but also to see many pieces that are not usually on view to the public. It's a fantastic chance to get an up close and personal look at some incredible Nantucket history. Admission is $15. Visit the website for more information.

3) Stop by the Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery on Friday, October 9 from 6-8 p.m. as they host the Artists Association of Nantucket's newest installment of their A Day in the Life themed exhibition. They'll be showing the work of two fantastic local oil painters, Loretta Yoder and G.S. Hill. Both artists often utilize the beautiful and nuanced charm of Nantucket's landscapes to make beautiful still lifes of harbors, homes, and seascapes.
