Come to Open Mic Night at the Muse, on Tuesday, September 29, from 9 p.m. till 1 a.m., and show off your talent with other islanders, or just hang out and watch some seriously talented locals.

2) Enjoy a relaxing night of the Brant Point Grill at the White Elephant, with the smooth sounds of the Bob Lehman Trio. The restaurant will be serving up it's well-known seafood and steak dishes (don't forget to check out their FireCone, a modern-day interpretation of a Native American cooking technique), and the band will be serving up their blend of contemporary music & light jazz on Fridays & Saturday nights...it's a win-win situation!

EXPERIENCE

4) On Wednesday, September 30 at 7 p.m., head on over to the Nantucket Atheneum for filmmaker John Stanton's captivating Nantucket Oral History Project. This monthly series of short films is designed to facilitate an open dialogue to discuss the island's future by remembering it's past. This month's films are The Short History and Possibilities of Wind Turbines, and a Personal History segment which chronicles Louise Garvey and the early days of island aviation. For history buffs and Nantucket buffs alike!

5) Here's a fantastic fall activity that's also full of local history...The NHA Fall Harvest Fair at the Old Mill! On Saturday, October 3 from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m., come on down to the mill, and learn all about Nantucket's agricultural past, play some fun colonial games, and make traditional crafts. Suggested donation is only $5!
