Greg Hinson, on A Still Spring Evening at the Town Pier in Nantucket:

My picture was taken this past Spring, looking away from the setting sun, at the Town Pier in Nantucket. I used software to blend three different exposures of the same scene to better capture the high dynamic range of the golden light at the time.

  • Congrats, Julie!

The first place photo is interesting (an up close view of water in motion) and abstract... Your photo is evocative with the beautiful fire orange ball of the sun just to the left of center and the full open sails of a large inviting sailboat along its side. As soon as you see it, goose bumps can be felt and you want to take a deep breath.
