EXPERIENCE

1) Sun Valley's 2009 Summer Ice Show continues this Saturday, August 8, at dusk at the Sun Valley Outdoor Ice Rink with 2009 World Champion and two time U.S. Gold Medalist Evan Lyscek. 2) Get creative (and dirty) with the family at Family Clay Afternoons, presented by Boulder Mtn. Clayworks, on Saturday, August 8, from 2-4 p.m. This week, try your hand at making a Popcorn Bowl! Admission is $40 for one adult and one child, and $10 for each additional child.

3) Check out this week's Friesen Gallery Artists Talk with mixed media artist Laura Sharp Wilson, and sculptor Ann Mallory, on Friday, August 7, from 4-5 p.m. Stay after for the Gallery Walk!

4) Learn about local design at Idaho's Fences: An Open Exhibition, continuing on through August 31 at The Center in Hailey. This exhibition is in conjunction with the Community Library's presentation of the Smithsonian Institute's touring Between Fences show, and is open to local photographers, illustrators, painters, and printmakers to present their perspective on the fences that inhabit our local landscape.

5) Get a little arty and a little crafty at the 41st Sun Valley Center Arts & Crafts Festival, from Friday, August 7, through Sunday, August 9, at Atkinson Park in Ketchum. This nationally recognized festival has free artist demonstrations, a kids crafts area, and live entertainment...and is free! So bring the kids and have a blast!
