Every Monday, we post The Five Best Things to enjoy in the upcoming week. These things are selected by the Plum TV staff and often times by you.

SEE

1) On Monday, October 12, go to the Liberty Theater to see the Company of Fools' very special presentation of The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, Epilogue. This play serves as a companion piece to the groundbreaking and highly acclaimed Laramie Project, which was presented by the company in 2003 and focuses on the brutal & untimely death of Matthew Shepard in 1998. As part of this special one night only event, the Liberty will be joined by over 100 theaters across the world also performing the play. Not to be missed, visit the website for more information.

2) The 20th Annual Swing & Dixie Jazz Jamboree is here! Starting on Wednesday, October 14 and going till Sunday, October 18, this festival is always a big hit, with tons of music, dancing, food, and special events that are fun for the whole family. Participating bands include Louis Ford & His New Orleans Jazz Flairs, Big Band Swing Design, Blue Renditions & Boise Straight Ahead. Check out the website for a full list of events and locations.

PLAY

3) Check out some truly talented local performers at the Hailey Words & Music Series at the Main Street Bistro at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 15. This monthly showcase features aspiring poets, musicians, storytellers, actors, and anyone else who needs a stage to perform on, and is followed by a headlining act. This week, it's Tim East. Come early and grab some dinner!

4) Get some grub for a good cause! On Friday, October 16, it's The 2nd Annual Dine Out Blaine County, where local restaurants take part in the fight to end childhood hunger by donating a percentage of their proceeds to The Hunger Coalition. EXPERIENCE

5) On Saturday, October 18, take in a good green film at the nexStage Theatre! The Sawtooth Botanical Garden will be screening A Chemical Reaction, a riveting film which documents a town in the northeast's struggle to raise awareness about and eventually ban the use of dangerous chemicals in lawn care. If you'd like even more information on how to maintain a beautiful and safe lawn, join Paul Tukey as he presents Safe Lawns: How & Why To Create an Organic Landscape, on Friday October 16 at 6 p.m. at the Sawtooth Gardens.
