Every Monday, we post The Five Best Things to enjoy in the upcoming week. These things are selected by the Plum TV staff and often times by you.

They range from humble to haute and include exciting events, festivals and performances as well as dining, shopping and playing at various treasured spots, shops and institutions.

This week we're looking forward to...

SEE

1) David Sedaris comes to Sun Valley! On Sunday, October 25 at the Limelight Room at 7 p.m., the Sun Valley Center For the Arts Lecture Series brings this author and frequent NPR contributor to our neck of the woods for some readings of his hilarious and touching stories. His bestselling collections of personal essays include classics like Me Talk Pretty One Day, Naked, and Holidays on Ice. Sedaris is known to give readings in his trademark deadpan delivery...and we can't wait to see it! Head on over to the Center's website for more information, and get tickets fast, as we think this will be probably sell out!

2) If you're on the lookout for some amazing theater this week, check out the Company of Fools' production of The Syringa Tree, at the Liberty Theater from Wednesday, October 21 through Friday, October 23. This dramatic tour de force, written by Pamela Gien and directed by John Glenn, is a story about an abiding love between two families, one black & one white, and the two children born into their shared household in the early 1960's. Should be a fantastic performance not to be missed. More from Company of Fools below:

3) If you're looking to work on your downward facing dog for the fall, a great way to do so is by heading over to Katherine's Restorative Yoga Clinic at the Wood River YMCA. These monthly clinics are designed to offer a more individualized yoga session, providing both beginners and seasoned pro's with some extra guidance and advice on their technique. This month's session takes place on Wednesday, October 21, and is $12 for a single class or $40 for the whole clinic.

4) Get ready for some local adventure with Exploring Mines of the Wood River Valley on Saturday, October 24 from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. This all-day excursion, led by Tom Blanchard, features several mining sites in the area and will focus on the impact the mining industry has had on the surrounding area and what is currently being done on an environmental level to facilitate safe clean-ups. Participants will meet at The Center in Hailey before heading out on their adventure, so be sure to check out the Historic Mining Photography exhibition currently on there! Remember to dress appropriately, and pack a lunch and water!
