Every Monday, we post The Five Best Things to enjoy in the upcoming week. These things are selected by the Plum TV staff and often times by you.

PLAY

1) Hone your creative eye and attend Oil Painting With Connie Borup, starting on Monday, September 21 at The Center in Hailey. This week long studio workshop gives students a chance to explore the qualities of oil painting and all the various techniques involved, such as underpainting, glazing, stenciling, and even scumbling! Students are encouraged to really immerse themselves in the work and discover their own unique style. Admission for the entire week is $200 for members and $250 for non-members. Seating is limited, so sign up now!

2) A Sun Valley classic has returned...it's the 31st Annual Baldy Hill Climb! On Saturday, September 26, there will be both biking and hiking races to take part in. Hikers will ascend the Warm Springs side of Bald Mountain, with the recreational hikers starting at 10 a.m., and the competitors starting at 11 a.m. If you'd rather take on Baldy with a bike, you'll be ascending on the Cold Springs Perimeter Trail, with a start at St. Luke's Hospital at 9 a.m. There's even an event for kids, Kinderclimb, for little ones under 11 at 9:30 a.m. in Warm Springs. 3) The nexStage Theatre has a very special guest this week, as they welcome New York based writer/musician Jeffrey Ernstoff as their 2009 artist-in-residence from Monday, September 21 through Sunday, September 27. To finish up his time in our neck of the woods, he'll be performing his one-man cabaret act Exactly One Hour with an Unstable American Musician, from Thursday September 24 through Saturday, September 26. Tickets go on sale Monday, so go get 'em while you can!

4) Enjoy the beautiful fall weather with some fantastic music at the Sun Valley Music Festival on Saturday, September 26, at 4 p.m. at the Sun Valley Pavilion. Headlining the festival the Brazilian music legend Sergio Mendes, and also playing will be jazz guitarist Gene Bertoncini, and the Paul Tillotson Love Trio, featuring world-renowned jazz trumpeter Lew Soloff.
