1) Check out the Avett Brothers on Wednesday, August 19, as they perform (for free!) in Mountain Village as part of the Sunset Concert Series put on by TMVOA. Enjoy the sounds of this folk rock band from North Carolina, and be sure to grab a PBR Tall Boy and bratwurst at the Poacher's vendor! 2) Catch a flick at Mountain Film's Outdoor Series, put on by Mountain Film and TMVOA. These free films are shown outdoors at the Sunset Plaza in Mountain Village, and are both festival selections and premieres of new films! So grab a blanket and enjoy the film and the beautiful Telluride night sky. Check out Mountain Films website for more information.

3) It's the last week for Kid's Interactive Activities at the St. Sophia Nature Center! On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, children can go to the center at noon to learn hands-on about some of the secrets of Telluride's wildlife. Activities include pressing leaves, baking cookies in a sun oven, and much more. Sounds fun, delicious, and educational!

4) Play a round of golf at 9,300 feet! Right now is a great time to get some excellent deals on a game of golf with some friends. The elevation with work to your advantage, as the thin air provides less resistance against the balls! Golfing is a perfect way to experience Telluride, as the course runs through Aspen Groves and gives breathtaking views of the San Juans. 5) Now is the perfect time to see some of the gorgeous wildflowers that color the San Juans. Take a hike into the higher altitudes, where loads of Columbines, Miner Socks, and Indian Paintbrush will make any hike worthwhile!
