3) It's finally Telluride Film Festival weekend, September 4 through September 7! Get a ticket and catch the premieres of fantastic new films made by the future legends of filmmaking. Stick around long enough after a screening, and we wouldn't be surprised if you spotted a celebrity or two. Confirmed speakers include Jeff Goldblum, David Fincher, and Greg Kinnear! Check out some action from previous Telluride Film Festivals:

4) The last Sunset Concert Series of the summer is this Wednesday, September 2, at 6 p.m. in Mountain Village! This week the southern rock outfit Hill Country Revue is performing their brand of "gritty & stripped down" blues. So come on down one last time to hear some great music and get that great view of the sun setting over the San Juans. Watch the videos below for other stellar bands who've played the Sunset Series:

EXPERIENCE
5) This week could be your last chance this season to thoroughly explore the San Juans - and what better way to do it then by backpacking! So grab some gear, some comfy shoes, and set up a tent at beautiful Alta Lake. Getting there is simple: Alta Lake Road is just 6 miles south of Telluride on Highway 145. If you're in the mood to do some real exploring, check out the ghost town of Alta, which is just off the main road. Sounds like a great finish to a spectacular summer in Telluride!
