Every Monday, we post The Five Best Things to enjoy in the upcoming week. These things are selected by the Plum TV staff and often times by you.

They range from humble to haute and include exciting events, festivals and performances as well as dining, shopping and playing at various treasured spots, shops and institutions.

This week we're looking forward to...

PLAY

1) Join the new workout that everyone in town is raving about, Telluride Gymnastics and Crossfit, LLC. Owners Teresa and Andrew have opened this brand new fully equipped gymnastics center in Lawson Hill, directly across from Viking Rentals, which includes not just gymnastics for the kids, but adult gymnastics classes AND a whole second floor dedicated to Crossfit work-outs. Get those ski legs in shape for the ski season and join up now for a work out that burns! They are located at 137 Society Drive.

2) Looking for something a little different to do this weekend? Grab some friends and head on over to the Bubble Lounge! This very unique establishment specializes in reviving the sense with a wide range of flavored oxygen (Eucalyptus, anyone?), though they also carry an impressive menu of tapas and specialty cocktails. They've even got big screen TV's to watch the game on, Wii bowling, and something called the ring game that we've been hearing is a lot of fun...and very addictive!

SAVOR

3) Get baked in Telluride-fresh baked pastries, that is! Head to Baked in Telluride for some exquisite lunch! A great way to get a true taste of the local atmosphere, Baked has been serving the town with fresh baked goods since 1975. Grab a delicious freshly baked bagel, or if you're a little big hungrier, a dozen cookies! Feed your spirit with fresh daily pasta dishes or a homemade soup and personalized sandwich. Check out the menu on their website.

EXPERIENCE

4) This Saturday, October 24 is United Nations Day, and Telluride, and communities from around the world, will be taking part in 350.org Day celebrations! Bill McKibben, an American environmentalist and writer (who just spoke at the UN summit in New York City), believes that 350 is the most important number on the planet. It is the measurement in parts per million that scientists have identified as the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere. Join other Telluride locals in this movement to be noticed in a closed-off Main Street celebration from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m., followed by a community potluck at the Ah Haa School Depot, from 5-7 p.m.
