Every Monday, we post The Five Best Things to enjoy in the upcoming week. These things are selected by the Plum TV staff and often times by you.

They range from humble to haute and include exciting events, festivals and performances as well as dining, shopping and playing at various treasured spots, shops and institutions.

This week we're looking forward to...

PLAY

1) Town Park is THE end of summer hang out spot, so join us this weekend for Telluride's one and only Flag Football Tournament! Teams from all around the region will come to play non-contact football in a feisty tournament where the Telluride men's team have a competitive chance at the title, and Telluride's first ever women's team will show us what they got. Cheer squads and coolers full of beer are very welcome. Reminisce about some great sports seasons gone by in Town Park with these videos:

2) If you missed out on last week's 11th Annual Bob Miller Memorial Golf Tournament, you still have a chance to get in some great local golfing before the end of the summer. The Telluride Golf Course is open until Sunday, October 4th with incredibly low rates. Greens fees before 1pm are $99. From 1-3 p.m., play costs just $89. After 3 p.m., games cost $69! Call (970)-728-2606 to reserve your tee time now on this world-class course.

EXPERIENCE

3) While it's not quite time for the annual Ski Swap, it's always time to recycle our trash and gently used treasures. If you're a fan of the free box, then you'll be a big fan of KOTO's first annual Garage Sale at the Wilkinson Public Library Garage this Saturday September 26. To reserve space call (970)-728-8100, otherwise come and shop 'til you drop for a great cause!

- KOTO Duck Race (Watch Video)

- KOTO Street Dance (Watch Video)

4) Spend a day (or the whole weekend) with regional and nationally recognized screenwriters & authors as they give presentations, read from their works, and talk amongst themselves and the audience and this year's Screen-Writers in the Sky. At the Wilkinson Public Library from Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 26. Visit the library's website for more information.

SPLURGE

5) It's getting colder, and it's time to stock up on some new sweaters! Head to Cashmere Red on Main Street in T-Ride for a huge selection of beautiful cashmere sweaters, scarves, and shirts. Cashmere Red offers some of the finest cashmere in town. All Cashmere Red's fiber is imported from Scotland, bringing the very best to Telluride!
