Every Monday, we post The Five Best Things to enjoy in the upcoming week. These things are selected by the Plum TV staff and often times by you.
They range from humble to haute and include exciting events, festivals and performances as well as dining, shopping and playing at various treasured spots, shops and institutions.
This week we're looking forward to...

PLAY
1) On Wednesday, November 4, come see who took it all off for charity this year at the 9th Annual Vail Undressed Calendar Unveiling Party, at the Vilar Performing Arts Center. This year's theme is Historic Landmarks of Vail. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the big unveiling scheduled for 7 p.m. Tickets are $30, and include appetizers, a free drink, live music, a silent auction...and of course a free copy of the calendar. Get tickets at the door, or call the Vilar box office at (970)-845-TIXS.

EXPERIENCE
2) For a fascinating look into the contemporary food industry, come to The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera on Friday, November 6 to hear author Robyn O'Brien discuss her new book, The Unhealthy Truth. O'Brien's book shares her personal story of trying to keep her family safe from the toxicity of America's food supply, and she'll be talking about the universal ability to overcome challenges and influence change in daily life. Tickets are $20-25, and you can register at the website. Get a taste of some healthful (and local) food in the videos below:

3) Stop by local hotspot Rick & Kelly's American Bistro on Thursday, November 6 to see The Laughing Bones performing live. The Bones are quite the sensation in Vail, and we can tell you that their signature style of bluegrass is worth all the buzz. They go on at 8:30 p.m, so come for the tastes and stay for the tunes.

SEE
4) Not a big football fan, but still looking for some great local sports to catch? On Saturday, November 7 head over to Battle Mountain High School to catch the Girls Varsity Regional Volleyball Tournament, going on all day. We're big fans of the Lady Huskies (all the Huskies, actually!), and can't wait to see them bring all their dedication & heart once again. More Lady Huskies (in multiple formats!) below:

- Lady Huskies Soccer (Watch Video)
- Lady Huskies Basketball (Watch Video)
5) Two of our favorite local bands share the stage as 24 South and Dr. Awkward play the Sandbar on Saturday, November 7, starting at 9 p.m. These two jam bands always bring a great crowd, good vibes, and maybe a couple of shenanigans to their shows...and the Sandbar's drink specials will certainly seal the deal. Make sure to go support local music!
