1) It's the first weekend of October, and fall is well under way! What better way to celebrate than a free and fun community event, The Living Local Harvest Festival. Here you can learn how to live healthier and more economical by going "local." At the Grange Hall in West Tisbury and beginning on Friday, October 2 at 7:30pm, this festival will include forums discussing better ways to save energy, fun activities for the kids, and exhibits from local businesses. 2) The colder it gets in the Vineyard, the more ideal it will be to stay indoors and get a little cozy, what better excuse to stay in bed than a good book? Be sure to pick up some good reads at Edgartown Books. Receiving new books almost every day - you will find new items on their shelves with each visit. 3) Hit the links for a good cause at the Rotary Club's Island Charity Golf Tournament, on Monday, October 5, at 10 a.m. at the Vineyard Golf Club. Enjoy 18 holes on this gorgeous course, as well as contests, raffles, and snacks & a buffet lunch! Proceeds benefit the Hospice of Martha's Vineyard. Admission is $150 per person, and registration begins at 9 a.m!
