• Obamas will be staying on the Vineyard

  "The amount of the rental has not been disclosed, but up-Island properties similar to Blue Heron Farm rent for between $35,000 to $50,000 per week."
  With the economy still not showing improvement and millions of people out of work - a rental of this amount is an insult to the American worker whose taxes no doubt will be paying this tab along with other costs for the vacation. The suggestions to keep expenses in check don't seem to apply to those in government. Just as the Senate and Congress isn't being made to join the new 'Helathcare Plan' - if it's good for the populace then it should be good for them too.
  I'm just tired of all the rhetoric we are given.

• First Family heads to MV

  How exciting! Back in June when I heard of their rumored vaca to MV I took a chance and designed three nantucket basket purses for Michelle Obama and daughters, Malia and Sasha. I cannot tell you how excited I am to see if they use them while they're there :) Here's a pic --- if you see them carrying 'em, please snap a pic and send to me!

• Check out West Tisbury!

  I would recommend checking out the small town of West Tisbury just 1 mile from where they'll be staying. They can visit Alley's General Store, and the Granary Gallery shouldn't be missed (it's the best gallery on the island!) They can also stop to see the sculptures at the Field Gallery, go to the Farmer's Market on Saturday, and check out the old cemetery dating back to the 1600's with the beautiful headstones and the graves of the "Chicken Lady" and Thomas Mayhew.

  2.Stroll Circuit Ave
  3.Buy Black Dog gear at the Black Dog shop
  4.Go to the Carousel (the oldest in America)
  5.Bike to the beach
  6.Catch Waves at South Beach
  7.Stop at Dairy Queen on the way back
  8.Go to Larsens for best lobster on island in Menemsha
  9.Watch sunset at beach at memensha
  10.Back to Oaks Bluff for Back door donuts Apple Fritters are a must!
  11.Head back to Blue Heron Lodge
  
  Next day only difference new beach
