Editorial Internship Responsibilities:
Content creation
Uploading of photos, videos and general content
Writing of short-form articles and stories
Photographing people, places and events
Assisting in reporting, interviewing and scheduling
Research, fact finding and data gathering
Programming Web site, event calendar and ÒtickerÓ
Outbound marketing
Ideal Qualifications:
Strong writing and editing skills
Digital photography skills/PhotoShop
Knowledge of AP StyleKnowledge of HTML a plus
Inside knowledge of local scene a plus
Eligibility Requirements:
Our internship has been designed for juniors and graduating seniors. Please note that there is a limited number of graduating senior intern spots (only one per market). Juniors applying need to be registered for an internship credit through your school. You will need to supply documentation of your eligibility to participate in the internship.
Date Requirements:
For the summer internship there are two sets of start dates. Either you MUST be available to by May 20, 2008 and remain on through August 22, 2008 or you must start by June 1, 2008 and remain on through September 2, 2008. HOUSING WILL BE PROVIDED. Internship Locations*:
Aspen, Vail, Telluride, Sun Valley, and Miami Beach, Nantucket, MarthaÕs Vineyard, and the Hamptons. There are also internship opportunities for New York City**
*Please note that you can request placement in a specific market, but this is in NO way a guarantee of placement within that market. You MUST be willing to go to any of our markets. However, if you have a family history or existing connections in a certain market make sure to let us know, but again we cannot guarantee you placement at that location.

**Plum does not provide housing for the NYC internship

Current Student Compensation:
This is an UNPAID internship and college credit is required, unless you are a graduating senior (see graduating senior compensation section). Housing will be provided in our markets for all interns and each student will be provided with a $50 per week stipend.
Graduating Senior Compensation:
If you are a graduating senior you are eligible for a paid internship. The internship is paid minimum wage and housing is provided. At the completion of the graduating senior internship they are possibly eligible to be hired full-time in any one of our markets. However, only the top performing interns may be offered positions.

One idea for a web-promo/contest or an innovative marketing method we might use to publicize Plum

Interns: Production

Production Internship Responsibilities:
Operating cameras on live and pre-taped shoots
Editing content (event coverage, local documentary, local ad, etc)
Knowledge of FCP is strongly recommended
Breaking down and setting up sets
Scheduling and coordinating shoots
On-camera appearances (possible)
Posting content to the local website
Administrative needs as they arise. DonÕt balk at thisÉ.these are small offices, we ALL pitch in and help out as needed.
Demonstrated ability to work HARD and successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Ability to perform under pressure to achieve deadlines
Highly motivated, quick thinkers w/ creative personalities who can adapt to various situations
Adventurous types who like to have fun while learning more
Cars are STRONGLY recommended but not required.

Plum is a multi-media network that operates local television stations and websites in the Hamptons, Nantucket, MarthaÕs Vineyard, Vail, Telluride, Sun Valley, Miami Beach and Aspen. Each station has extensive coverage of the many events that make these communities special (film and wine festivals, downhill contests, concerts, polo matches, regattas, and dogsled races to name a few).

Because Plum is different, we need a different type of intern. If you want to fetch and make coffee all day, you need not apply. If you want to be an integral part of a team in a growing company and to surround yourself with some of the top entrepreneurial minds out there, let's see if you have what it takes.

Working for Plum is a fast-paced opportunity to learn while contributing to a brand-new multi-media network. So you might find yourself making live tv, documentaries, arts series, political talk, or news gathering. You will learn what it is like to build a business from the ground up. If you are on the sales/marketing track you might find yourself prospecting, pitching an ad concept to a client, proposal writing, and database sales management. If the web suits your fancy you will be traveling all around the market covering different events, taking photographs, writing copy, and managing the website.

There are 3 tracks in the Plum internship program: Production, Sales, and Web. All are equally important because they are all necessary in a multi-media business.
