Where We Started
Plum originated on Nantucket Island in Massachusets. In 2002, Tom Scott - creator of Nantucket Nectars - purchased Nantucket Television, the community cable channel. Tom and his partners started incubating new ideas for community programming, using the channel to reflect and promote the spirit of the community.
In 2003, encouraged by the positive response to the work at Nantucket Television, Tom teamed with Chris Glowacki, an NBC executive and Nantucket native, to create Plum TV®. Plum launched in the summer of 2004 on Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard and in the Hamptons.
Plum Today
Plum has since grown to a network of 8 local television channels and websites serving over 16.4 million people a year.
Plum’s current markets are Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, the Hamptons, Vail, Aspen, Telluride, Sun Valley and Miami Beach. While the towns may be small, the reach and influence is not. Plum’s markets are destinations of choice for cultural leaders in the media, business, arts and politics. They form Plum’s audience but also are subjects of and participants in Plum content.
