Plum TV is an advertiser's peach
August 30, 2007
There's a TV channel for everyone, and Tom Scott -- the founder of Nantucket Nectar bottled beverages -- knows it. Scott founded Plum TV in Nantucket, Mass., to cater to the wealthy. The average viewer makes $600,000 a year. Advertisers are eager to get involved, as that demographic is hard to reach. Scott has expanded the channel to 7 other wealthy areas because of its success. Consultants say viewers see Plum as a sort of social networking phenomenon; viewers know their peers will see them if they're interviewed.
