PLUM TV, a startup television network focused on local television in destination markets, seeks a motivated shooter/editor to work in our Miami Beach office on a freelance basis. Plum currently operates local TV channels in the Hamptons, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Vail, Aspen, Telluride, Sun Valley and Miami Beach and is rapidly expanding into other markets across the country. Plum creates original content for each local market channel as well as programming that airs across our network.
Primary role:
Produce, direct, edit and manage live and taped programming development.
Duties include:
• Produce, shoot, and edit lifestyle features and events coverage
• Create local partner pieces, show graphics, bumpers, interstitials, & promos
• Manage content delivery, trafficking and scheduling
• Opportunity to direct Plum’s live morning and sports shows, as well as live to tape cooking show
• Possible on-camera work: taped packages or on live morning show
• Work with staff and community to generate content ideas
• Trouble-shooting technical issues (training will be provided)
• Technical requirements:
o Proficient in FinalCutPro and Photshop
o AfterEffects and Motion experience a plus
o Content management, DVD authoring, and or web experience a plus
o Graphic design experience a plus
o Audio engineering and lighting experience a plus
o Ability to learn and master new technologies and software
Other:
• Problem solving skills a must.
• Must be self-starter, self-motivated
• This is a leadership role. In some cases, you will be responsible for inspiring and directing a team of 5 (other APs, PAs, and talent)
• Comfortable working on deadline and in fast-paced environment
• Story-telling ability is valuable
• Enjoy making order out of chaos
• Nothing is too big or too small to tackle. All jobs require some admin and office management
• Not afraid of long hours
• Team player” with a positive attitude and strong belief in the value of quality story-telling television
