PLUM TV, a startup television network focused on local television in high-end resort markets, seeks a producer. Plum currently operates local TV channels in Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Vail, Aspen, Telluride, Miami Beach, and Sun Valley, and is rapidly expanding into other vacation markets. Plum creates original content for each local market channel as well as programming that airs across our network.
Primary role:
Produce programs for local television while maintaining the overall vision of Plum.
Duties include:
• Produce, shoot, and edit Plum coverage of local events, festivals, government meetings, and local sports
• Develop and maintain local relationships
• Possible on-camera work: taped packages or on live morning show
• Work with staff and local community to generate content ideas
• Trouble-shooting technical issues
Technical requirements:
• Advanced knowledge of FinalCutPro and Photoshop
• Advanced knowledge of photography and videography
• Ability to learn and master new technologies and software
• Solid knowledge of sound and lighting for television
Other:
• Comfortable working on deadline and in fast-paced environment, particularly during high season
• Create opportunities and take advantage of situations that present themselves
• Story-telling ability is valuable
• Nothing is too big or too small to tackle
• On air experience is a plus, but not a requirement
• “Team player” with a positive attitude and strong belief in the value of community television
• Minimum 1-year commitment required
