Do you blog? Have you ever wanted to blog? Are you a photographer? Love your community, food, arts, sports, journalism?
If you answered "Yes!" We would like to extend an invitation to you to join Plum's Community Editorial Team as a Plum Blogger.
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1. We set you up with a Plum Blogger account, so that you can submit excerpts (that link to full posts), photos, or even full stories from your blog or website or original content you would like to feature on PlumTV.com.
Step 2. Our editors will lightly edit your copy and make sure that it won't get us into trouble (no profanity, sweeping political statements, harmful words etc.) Read Plum's Blogger Etiquette.
Step 3. Our editors publish your content on Plum TV, people love it, you get page views, or maybe a bit of local celebrity!
WHY WE'RE DOING THIS
The world of journalism and content creation has changed dramatically, so we created this platform for a few reasons:
1.) To expose our nationwide audience to great local citizen journalists, bloggers, artists, and photographers.
2.) To collaborate with you on content/programming, your observations and ideas can inform and potentially direct some of what Plum covers on television.
3.) To create an online community of local journalists, writers, and photographers, and organize a real story corps in and about Plum communities.
PlumTV and plumtv.com are not traditional news organizations, so we believe we can have a lot of fun with our model. In addition to "breaking news," restaurant buzz, social gossip, celebrity sightings, etc., we want to surface stories that run a range of experiences about the people and things that take place on the ground that might otherwise get overlooked.
Ultimately, if our experiment works, we'll succeed in promoting your content and increase your own site's traffic, and we'll fill a noticeable need in community-driven editorial.
Please let us know if you're interested by emailing John Elliot (jelliot-at-plumtv.com). We'll create an account, give you a tour, and get started right away!
All the best,
John
