About the Show

A series of one-on-one interviews with America’s preeminent politicians and public servants. Talking to Stan Pottinger, these prestigious guests will be afforded the opportunity to reveal where politics is about more than policies, where it's about the desire to change the world. This program allows our leaders to show themselves as something more than a composite of party talking points and rehearsed speeches.

We are not looking for the standard sound-bites, so the setting is relaxed. Beyond Politics endeavors to be intimate, with a ties off, sleeves rolled up sensibility and a deliberate avoidance of this week’s hot topic.

Guided by Stan Pottinger, who has worked for Nixon and Carter administrations on both sides of the political fence and hence a host with a unique insight into the life, work and responsibilities of the politician, the audience will come to know our guest, his or her background, high school days, the very beginnings of their career. That inside knowledge gives the viewer a privileged look at the driving forces behind the politician's current politics, insights and beliefs. The unique opportunity to stray off message demystifies the public figure and reveals the simple everyday decisions that shaped the person and the politician.
