About the Show

Plum, along with the Global Philanthropy Group, explores the philanthropic endeavors of those who have made their career dreams come true. Featuring three philanthropists per episode, they’ll be discussing the goals of their organizations, their past successes, and their desire to continue to give while encouraging others to begin their own philanthropy.

Hosted by Lisa Shields, Vice-President, Council on Foreign Relations. Lisa Shields was a former correspondent for Primetime Live and now heads up communications and marketing for one of the country’s most prominent think tanks.

Episode #1 will feature:

  • Lauren Bush, model/activist and her Feed Bag program designed to make the simple act of grocery shopping a life saving gift.
  • Brad Pitt on location in New Orleans with his Make It Right initiative.
  • Countess Albina du Boisrovray, a French countess, journalist and movie producer with a large family fortune — sold off $100 million in paintings, jewels and businesses, and in 1989 used a large part of the proceeds to launch the Association François-Xavier Bagnoud with a global mission to assist AIDS orphans and abandoned AIDS/HIV children.

Episode #2 will feature:

  • Rachael Ray television personality and her Yum-O charity whose mission is to empower kids and their families to develop healthy relationships with food and cooking by teaching families to cook, feeding hungry kids and funding cooking education.
  • Richard Branson and Peter Gabriel have spearheaded a new private alliance to launch diplomatic assaults on the globe’s most intractable problems. They are working closely with world-famous figures including archbishop Desmond Tutu, President Jimmy Carter, former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, and former Irish President Mary Robinson.
