About the Show
Plum presents Harvest: Napa-Sonoma, a celebration of America’s premier gastronomic region. After making films about the wine regions of Tuscany, Burgundy and Bordeaux, Plum decided it was time to visit our own back yard, home to some of the most sought-after wines in the world.
This documentary features many of the great American innovators who have helped put Napa and Sonoma counties on the map, including Michael Mondavi, Robert Sinskey, Jed Steele and Ray Coursen. Other leading properties featured in this film include Opus One, Jordan, Rubicon, Cain, Steele, Cliff Lede, Spottswoode, Far Niente and Nickel and Nickel.
Plum’s documentary crew visited Napa, Sonoma and San Francisco the same week that Le Guide Michelin awarded top restaurants in northern California its prestigious Michelin stars. This was the first time northern California had been rated, and the event quickly made front-page news.
Harvest: Napa-Sonoma explores the ground-breaking culinary work of Thomas Keller of the three-star restaurant “The French Laundry,” as well as rising stars like Richard Reddington, chef/owner of the Yountville hotspot Redd. Also featured is Nic Peyton of the two-star restaurant Cyrus in Healdsburg. Harvest: Napa-Sonoma drives home the point that great food follows great wine. Nowhere is this more apparent in the brave new world of American gastronomy that is Napa-Sonoma.
