Well, it's finally happening. As the end of the ski season rapidly approaches (except maybe in Aspen), temperatures are rising, and precipitation is no longer an unseasonable powder pour, but sunny skies and the occasional rain/snow mix. Spring Skiing, however brief, has arrived out West.

Yes, you read that correctly. And no, this is NOT an April Fool's Joke (that would be such poor taste!) With a base depth in Highlands Bowl topping 100 inches, the deepest it has been all season, Aspen/Snowmass has made the incredibly wise & outstanding decision to extend Highlands season through the weekends of April 18-19 & April 25-26.

It’s been officially spring for almost a week now but you wouldn’t know it to look at Colorado, which is experiencing the Second Coming of Winter. In the past seven days, Vail has received 35 inches of fresh snow, Aspen has seen 24 inches of new powder and the lovely Telluride has been covered on to the tune of 16 inches (and it’s still snowing!)...
