With lunch looming, Chris and Molly Fischer hit the open water off Squibnocket in search of bass. Their search, however, ends with only a few feeble nibbles as the height of the excursion’s excitement — so much for living up to their last name. Maybe it was the eel bait, or maybe it was the hook, but the bass just weren’t fooled. Fear not though, Chris came prepared with some back-up tuna that they deliciously prepare and devour — raw. Yum!

Chris Fischer visits Mermaid Farm in West Tisbury. As the largest — with four cows — and only dairy farm on the Vineyard, they produce their own milk and make their own yogurt. After a morning jaunt to a secret blueberry patch Chris returns to enjoy his foraged findings with some ultra-fresh yogurt. All in all, it was a very good morning.

On Wednesday, April 28, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced the federal government had approved a permit for Cape Wind Associates to build the first-ever offshore wind farm in the United States in Nantucket Sound. In March of 2008, Plum's own Alex Friedman went to a public forum debating the now-approved Cape Wind project at MVRHS. Check it out.
