After slogging my way through the local trail running series' 10K at 10,000 feet last year, I thought I'd throw a list of guidelines together for fellow unseasoned runners. The local trail-running series, operated by the Vail Recreation District, is a fantastic way to bond with other health-minded individuals, get your heart rate up, and get a new perspective of Vail's world-class trails and views.

Teva Mountain Games 101: Guide to the Mountain Sports Events

The Teva Mountain Games, the nations largest mountain sporting event, returns to Vail June 4-7, 2009 for another four days of high-adrenline action and celebration of the outdoor lifestyle. The Games, acquired by the fine folks at the Vail Valley Foundation this winter, looks to be gearing up for its biggest year yet with a host of new cultural events and musical acts as well as the tried & true Teva traditions we've come to know and love.

Unlimited Adventures: Kimi Puntillo

She spoke with Plum about a few of her favorite marathons (Antarctica, Everest, Great Wall of China) and how the camaraderie with fellow runners and the breathtaking surroundings keep her running.
