(2009) The Dirt Series: Mountain Biking Mamas Hit The Trails

Candace Shadley, founder and director of the Dirt Series, was attempting to round up the attention of thirty excited women. Radiating confidence, humor, and business, Candace managed to direct attention to her beaming smile. She started by introducing the coaches – Lu, Julie, Penny, Angela and Jennifer. Mountain Biking: Take One on Valley View Trail

As we zoomed side by side down the bike path my fiancee shouted instructions over the noise of our knobby tires. "If you need to stand up to climb," he yelled, "keep your weight towards the back so you don't spin out. When you're on a switchback, ride the outer line and keep your pedals parallel to the ground. And whatever you do, don't lean forward on the downhill!"

Well, it's finally happening. As the end of the ski season rapidly approaches (except maybe in Aspen), temperatures are rising, and precipitation is no longer an unseasonable powder pour, but sunny skies and the occasional rain/snow mix. Spring Skiing, however brief, has arrived out West.
