Christo is currently working on "Over The River" -- the Arkansas River on the eastern slope of the Rocky mountains in Colorado. The installation which will be ready in summer 2014 involves horizontally suspending 5.9 miles of reflective, translucent fabric panels high above the water on steel cables anchored into the river's banks to create an effect that emphasizes our relationship with the natural world.

The decision to approve the project came with a variety of conservation clauses such as protecting sheep and limiting activity in lambing season.  In addition, a Bighorn Sheep Adaptive Management Fund will be funded by Christo himself.
