Chuck Close is one of the major painters of the late 20th century. We follow the artist into his studio, and join him as he speaks with his longtime friend and gallerist Arne Glimcher. From his studio space, to the hanging and unveiling of an exhibition, we view the artist at work and in conversation, discussing the people, places and artists that have influenced and inspired his work, his inspiration in nature, in the art of past civilizations and the work of artists still producing today.

    I think that it is interesting that he thinks that he thinks of painting like this as a fun and a game. I would probably get bored after a while.

    I think it is neat that he used many different colors to create a solid regular color. Also, I think it is interesting that he always paints from top to bottom. I don't think it is a waste to paint like he does because it allowed him to find new shapes that he could make and new color combinations.
