Montauk, NY - They say one's home is a window into one's soul, so what does Bernie Madoff's temple to beige Formica say about the legendary con man? Plum's Nick Leighton gives himself a tour of his new-to-the-market beach house to find out.

UPDATE - Madoff's Beach House has been sold, according to the New York Times:

The Montauk, N.Y., beach house of the convicted swindler Bernard L. Madoff has been sold for more than the $8.75 million asking price, the listing agent said Thursday.

The 3,000-square-foot gray contemporary house on the dunes went on the market two weeks ago. There were multiple bids, said Joan Hegner, an agent with the Corcoran Group who shared the listing with her husband Raymond Hegner. “We have fully signed contracts,” Ms. Hegner said.

She declined to give any details about the buyer or to specify the exact selling price.

Ms. Hegner said the deal should close “in a couple of weeks.”

How much, we wonder, did this lovely property sell for?

UPDATE - We now know! ABC News reports the property sol for $9.4 million, a million over the original asking price.

Nice spot (meaning, the house and the Plum TV coverage of it). But what's the song playing in the background?
