  • 5th Annual Halloween Hoopla

If you do something on the 5th Annual Halloween Hoopla event last Friday. I have one correction on the information regarding the ‘Haunted Kitchen’. This part of the event is not put on by the Meriwether Building. The haunted part of the kitchen is put on by Spa Beleza and the kitchen part is put on by the Cowboy Cocina Restaurant. We have some business owners who wish to not be a part of the event.

Every year Spa Beleza adds items to their haunted house and spends a week designing and working to put the haunt in the house. With scary monsters hanging from the ceiling, censored screaming pumpkins, tombstones with comical inscriptions and creatures crawling out from beds of Hailey’s beautiful fall leaves. There is also the ’Swam Thing” (played by Phil Rainey), who guards the front door and lets not forget the ‘Talking Witch’ (played by Collette Rainey), with her genuine witch voice, knows your kids names and talks to them about their amazing costumes. Sound a bit scary but we keep it down for the young ones.

The Cowboy Cocina donates their time to serve free hot dogs, their delicious macaroni & cheese, lemonade and tootsie pops to children in costume. The Cowboy Cocina also sells wine & beer for those parents who have been walking the streets of Hailey for hour to enjoy the fu and smiles on their kids faces.

Sponsored by South Valley Merchants for the Community. The businesses that get involved volunteer their time and financially pay for the costs of their event. The Merchants total enjoy making Halloween a fun and safe place to Trick or Treat and socialize with one another. This year, being the 5th year, was the most successful with hundreds more children and adults dressed for the fun of to all.

    Thank you.
