Isaacson, whose much-anticipated book, Steve Jobs: A Biography, in stores November 21st, spent two years interviewing Jobs, his family, friends, adversaries, competitors and colleagues.
We caught up with him this Saturday at the Artists v. Writers event in East Hampton where he shared exclusive inside information about Jobs.
Isaacson spoke about Jobs' extraordinary life, including how his experience of being adopted has led him on a lifelong quest for control. His passion for perfection enabled Jobs to revolutionize technology. "One of the things that makes his creativity so strong is that he has a passion to control the user experience from the microchip to the store."
Isaacson is the author of several biographies, including about Einstein, Henry Kissenger and Benjamin Franklin. He is also the President and CEO of the Aspen Institute.
